One Book, One Waco announces summer reading list

The Greater Waco Chamber announces Little Chapel on the River by Gwendolyn Bounds as the summer 2009 book selection for One Book, One Waco. Little Chapel on the River chronicles a Manhattan journalist’s search for a place to belong following the Sept. 11 attacks.

The novel explores themes of family and friendship as well as the importance of building a strong community. Along with Bounds’ book, One Book, One Waco selected two additional books—The Death and Life of Great American Cities by Jane Jacobs and The Case of the Most Ancient Bone: Hank the Cowdog Series by John Erickson—for community planners and younger readers to enjoy during the dog days of summer.
