The Greater Waco Chamber will serve as the bottled water collection point for USO Fort Hood’s Operation Hydration from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 26. Collection day also will include a program at 10 a.m. with speakers Sen. Brian Birdwell and Rep. Ralph Sheffield.

Operation Hydration is an effort to collect bottles of water for troops and their family members stationed at Fort Hood. Water will be served to soldiers in USO centers, outbound flight support, welcome home ceremonies and USO programs.

Fort Hood is home to 46,000 service members with 89,000 family members and has 22,000 to 30,000 National Guard and Reserve Troops on the North Containment each year.

Partnering with the USO in this hydration effort are the Greater Waco Chamber, Oak Farms Dairy, Waco Coca Cola, HEB and KCEN-TV.
